Kuna FFA recently returned from the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana bringing home several awards and high placing individuals.

Early in 2012 Kuna FFA qualified four teams including Horse Evaluation, Dairy Cattle Evaluation, Meats Evaluation, and Farm Business Management to represent Idaho at the National Convention. The teams competed against fifty other teams from states across the country.  The Farm Business Management team placed 4th with Henry Wilson placing 3rd high individual. The team also consisted of Amanda Reynolds, Max Blitman, and Brett Blackstock, earning a gold ranking. The Dairy Cattle Evaluation team placed 8th earning a gold ranking. The team consisted of Maggie Reynolds, Jeni Hagler, Libby Reynolds, and Macy Hagler. The Meats Evaluation team members included Zackary Reynolds, Samantha Roberts, Anna Rodriguez, and Mark Nebeker. The team placed 12th with a gold ranking and Zackary Reynolds was 7th high individual. The Horse Evaluation team of Chelsea Dye, Kinsie Ward, Heather Skovgard, and Kevin Brown received a silver ranking and placed 20th.  All teams represented Idaho with great efforts at their contests.

Students did more than just compete; they attended leadership workshops, explored the career fair, and were inspired by sessions and motivational speakers like Idaho’s first National Officer in twenty-one years, Seth Pratt. The nineteen Kuna students who attended also toured Churchhill Downs, Mammoth Cave National Park, Winstar Thoroughbred Farm, Kentucky Horse Park, and the Indianapolis Motor Speed Way. Kuna FFA had a great time at Nationals, and hope to compete again next year at the 2013 National FFA Convention in Louisville, Kentucky.
