At the Canyon County Fair and Festival, Kuna FFA definitely had “something to crow about” from the various accomplishments of members young and old. Out of the members exhibiting sheep, Josh Christensen, Mikayla Berheim, Max Blitman, and Sarah Shankel advanced to the championship runoff for FFA showmanship. A special congratulation to Mikayla Berheim, the Reserve Grand Champion FFA Sheep Showman, and Josh Christensen, the Grand Champion FFA Sheep Showman.
Representing Kuna FFA in the championship runoff for FFA beef showmanship were Zachary Reynolds, Eric Ball, Mackenzie Peace, and Samantha Roberts. Eric Ball took third and Mackenzie Peace was the Reserve Grand Champion FFA Beef Showman. In the Beef Market Livestock class, Dustin Zabel earned Grand Champion Market Steer and Mackenzie Peace achieved the title of Outstanding Angus Breeding Project.
Kuna FFA also excelled in the swine division with members Ben Doan and Stanley Hansen competing in the championship runoff for FFA showmanship. Ben Doan took third place in the runoff, Stanley Hansen was awarded Reserve Grand Champion FFA Swine Showman, and Mackenzie Peace’s Hampshire market hog was champion in his breed.
In the dairy cattle department, Macy Hagler’s Brown Swiss heifer achieved a Reserve Grand Champion title for her breed. Proceeding to the Round Robin, where participants are required to show 2 animals from each large animal species (horse, dairy cattle, dairy goat, meat goat, beef, sheep, and swine), were Josh Christensen, Mikayla Berheim, Eric Ball, Mackenzie Peace, and Stanley Hansen.
Congratulations also go to Mackenzie Peace, the Reserve Grand Champion FFA Overall Showman and Aaron Emmert, the First High Individual of the Canyon County Fair Livestock Judging Contest. All of the members who exhibited at the Canyon County Fair are to be commended on a job exceptionally well done.
