Annual Kuna FFA Advisory Committee Scholarship Auction

by Libby Reynolds, Kuna FFA Chapter Reporter

On September 30th, at 6pm, the Kuna FFA Advisory Committee will host their 13th annual scholarship auction. The auction is composed of three parts:  the live auction, the silent auction, and the “raise the paddle” scholarship. Every item sold at the auction is donated by a member of the community, including teeth whitening, car batteries, gift certificates, a utility trailer, and much more.  Auction proceeds go toward scholarships for Kuna FFA members. The “Raise the Paddle” scholarship solely goes to those students who wish to attend the Washington Leadership Conference in Washington D.C. , in June. The rest of the proceeds are distributed to various other events, such as National Convention, State Convention/Career Development Events, and senior scholarships for members attending a College or University. The Kuna FFA chapter welcomes the members of the community to come and support them at this auction. Dinner and dessert will be served prior to the auction, please come and support.

Canyon County Fair Report for Kuna FFA

At the Canyon County Fair and Festival, Kuna FFA definitely had “something to crow about” from the various accomplishments of members young and old. Out of the members exhibiting sheep, Josh Christensen, Mikayla Berheim, Max Blitman, and Sarah Shankel advanced to the championship runoff for FFA showmanship. A special congratulation to Mikayla Berheim, the Reserve Grand Champion FFA Sheep Showman, and Josh Christensen, the Grand Champion FFA Sheep Showman.
