Kuna FFA Advisory Scholarship Auction a Huge Success

   On Monday September 27, 2009  the Kuna FFA Chapter held the 10th annual Advisory Committee Scholarship Auction. The Kuna Agricultural Department had over 350 people attend the Barbecue  and auction. There were more than 200 items donated for the auction by community members and local businesses. The highlight of the evening was when the crowd chose to provide donations for the Washington Leadership Conference.  Because of the FFA supporters  generosity, we will be able to send up to 12 members to our nation’s capital for this great conference. Additional money raised from the auction will be used for senior scholarships and FFA member travel scholarships to State FFA Leadership Convention and the State FFA Career Development Events.  The auction raised approximately $22,500 – which well exceeded the Chapter’s goal of $12,000! read more…

Another successful week for Kuna FFA

The Kuna FFA Chapter started the week with their opening social. There were 65 or more new members in attendance with their parents’.  They learned about FFA and our chapter.  They also were able to participate in events we are involved in as well.  A great time was had by all.

The dairy judging and dairy foods teams participated in the annual district event.  Kuna placed first overall in dairy cattle evaluation. Individual awards were given to Andrew Scott (3rd place) and Jared Schwartz (4thplace). Team members included: Heather Skovgard, Linda Zantman, Kayla Simper, Jared Schwartsz, and Jacob Williams.

Members of the dairy foods team that participated in the event were: Katy Szatkowski, Hailee Hayes, Amber Garison, Cassie Drake, and Marria Unser. The team placed 2nd in the district with high individuals of Katy who placed 3rd and Hailee who placed 5th.
