Canned Food Drive
by Anna Rodriguez – Kuna FFA Chapter Reporter
For the past couple of weeks the Kuna FFA Chapter has been gathering canned food items from Kuna elementary schools, the high school and the public library for its annual food drive. They also went around the high school and gathered cash donations from students and faculty to augment additional food items and presents for members of our community who are struggling.
This year was very successful with over 50 families receiving a traditional holiday meal which included a ham, canned food items and books for the children.
On Friday December 17th members of the chapter boxed up the items in the morning and delivered them to the families that afternoon.
All of those who helped, by either giving a donation, boxing up the items and/or delivering were left with a good feeling knowing they had helped someone else have a happy holiday season who might of otherwise not had one.
