This afternoon Kuna High School’s Future Farmers of America (FFA) placed first place in the nation in Farm Business Management.
 
Led by advisors Joe Blackstock, Shawn Dygert and Travis Edwards, the four member team competed against almost every state in the nation to win first place in this prestigous award. Student team members were composed of three seniors, Jeni Hagler, Josh Winger, Mark Nebeker  and one junior, Zack Reynolds.
 
“We were incredibly excited to win this award,” said Hagler. “We have worked extremely hard over the last year.”
 
In addition to earning first place as a team, three of the four individuals placed in the top ten in the nation:
  • Hagler, 10th place
  • Reynolds, 6th place
  • Winger, 1st place
Hagler, Reynolds and Nebeker will receive a $1000 scholarship and Winger will receive a $1500 scholarship for their achievements.
 
“I want to thank my advisors. We couldn’t have done this without their coaching and dedication,” said Winger.
 
In addition to the first place ranking, Kuna FFA also achieved gold in the Career Development Events of Parliamentary Procedure and Agricultural Mechanics.
