The Kuna FFA Chapter had 34 members showing sheep, swine or beef during the week of July 26-31 at this year’s Canyon County Fair, bringing home an abundance of ribbons and awards in evidence.

Sweeping the table of swine awards were Aaron Emmert, owner of the Grand Champion Market Hog, and Brett Berheim, Grand Champion Swine Showman and Round Robin participant. Beef exhibitors were also highly competitive; six of the eight showmen in the showmanship run-off were Kuna FFA members, with the title of Reserve Grand Champion Showman taken by Dustin Zabel. Dustin also participated in the Round Robin and was awarded Supreme Female for one of his heifers in the breeding show. The Outstanding Beef Exhibitor and Ruth York Extra Mile awards were presented to Michelle Ball for her hard work and dedication to the fair over the past several years as an exhibitor through both the 4-H and FFA. Sheep showmen were also well represented by multiple exhibitors who made it to the run-off as well as Kim Ware taking the breeding classes by storm with her Supreme Ewe and Ram. Many other members received a multitude of ribbons and awards, aiding in the success of the Kuna FFA at the 2011 Canyon County Fair and Festival.
