Meridian Dairy Princess Application - The Meridian Dairy Board Princess Pageant is an opportunity for girls throughout the Treasure Valley to compete for the title of Dairy Princess or Junior Princess. The Meridian Dairy Board seeks to promote an awareness of the positive effects of the dairy industry in our communities. The purpose of this pageant is to encourage a desire for community involvement in today’s youth, and to teach tomorrow’s women leaders necessary skills such as poise, self-worth, and public speaking. Heifer of the Year Contest - Students grades 7-12 are eligible to participate in the contest sponsored by the Idaho Cattle Association. The contest consists of an online exam that tests an individual’s general knowledge of the cattle industry, ranching and agri-business areas. The test contains multiple choice, true/false, and fill in the blank questions, along with 3 essay questions related to recent news and events of the cattle industry. The grand prize is a purebred heifer – the breed being the winner’s preference depending on available choices. Other prizes may include scholarships, feed and equipment. Applications are due April 30, 2012. Each participant will be emailed the link for the test, which will be available to take from May 1, 2012 to May 15, 2012.
